Pilates Reformer Classes

Small class sizes to ensure individualized attention

Why differentiate? At Pilates Anchored our goal is to grow students together as a class. When students are consistent in showing up in their practice it helps us all progress as a class. Finding the initial appropriate placement is a part of this process. With five students in a class, we have the ability to differentiate individual students’ needs, but the pacing of the classes will vary based on the levels.

Level 1 is suited for students completely new to a Pilates practice, or the Pilates reformer. Level 1 classes will move at a slower pace with more explicit instruction and explanations of each exercise. We will also address equipment set up, proper alignment, Pilates terminology, and use more repetition to reinforce exercises each week. This is also a great level for students with a regular Pilates practice who need multiple modifications for specific conditions. This class will help get you prepared to take any level 2 or 3 classes.

Level 2 is designed for students who have a foundational Pilates practice, basic familiarity to many Pilates reformer exercises, understanding of Pilates terminology, and awareness of proper alignment. Level 2 students will have taken Pilates reformer classes before with a qualified instructor. We will continue to expand your Pilates reformer exercises repertoire in this class and begin to add in more intermediate moves. Pacing will start to increase at level 2, and more exercises will be completed within a single class setting.

Level 3 is for students with a regular and consistent Pilates reformer practice. Students at level 3 should have familiarity with most of the core Pilates reformer exercises, understanding of proper form for each exercise, and awareness of their own dynamic alignment. This level will begin to introduce some of the advanced exercises within the Pilates reformer sequence and the pace will continue to quicken.

Level 4 (studio clearance required to register)is our advanced, athletic-paced Pilates reformer class. Please reach out to us before booking yourself into a Level 4 class! Students in this level have extensive Pilates reformer experience, know the names and set-up for most Pilates intermediate and advanced exercises and require minimal modifications to execute them. Because of the fast pacing of this class, less explanations will be offered about how to do the exercise, and more emphasis on cueing nuances to refine execution.

Still not sure what level to take? Don’t hesitate to sign-up for what seems best and after your first class (or a few classes), your instructor will let you know what they believe is the most appropriate fit. Or, feel free to send us a message to share about your Pilates experience and we will offer a suggestion.

“New to Reformer” Monthly Offering

This is an offer on months we are not running Defining Essentials. You can think of this as Defining Essentials Lite. This 60-minute class will cover parts of the reformer, how to change your springs, explain how the machines work, basic setup, and do a workout with introductory reformer movement. This class is for anyone new to working out on a reformer, or great for any student who is new to Pilates Anchored. Any fitness level welcome. This is about understanding this dynamic piece of equipment so that you can get the most out of your workout on the machine.

This 4-week Pilates Reformer Class introductory series will teach you all of the fundamentals needed to feel confident joining a group Pilates reformer class. We run this series quarterly.

Our next series will be January 2027, dates coming soon! Email us to be added to list of people we will reach out to when we have the class scheduled.

We will cover: the anatomy of the reformer, why and how spring resistance is different, equipment set-up for your body, adjusting machines during class, modifications and props, proper alignment, safety, and the foundational Pilates reformer exercises you encounter in most classes. In case you are new to Pilates entirely, we will also cover some of the Pilates principals and concepts to help you have a deeper practice while taking class.

The series is capped at 5 participants, so there will be a lot of individualized attention, time for questions, and modifications offered for any movement adaptations you may need to safely practice in a group setting. Class will have a combination of education along with a workout that gradually adds in exercises each week.

BOOK HERE!

***NOTE: Make sure you are able to attend all four weeks before signing up. Refunds will not be given for missed sessions, and make-up classes are not available for this series.

Dates don’t work for you? Email us to be added to a list for contact when next dates are set. Or book a one-on-one session or our new New To Reformer class in the meantime!
